The Console doesn't wanna open i'm hitting TILDE ~ and nothing happens!!!

I would like to play the game with some cheats that would be helpful and more enjoyable than just sneaking around like a rat.
Does anybody know anything that could help????

Ure hitting the wrong button I guess. I have a Norwegian keyboard, and that button you are supposed to press to bring up the console, is not the one I use to get up the console. I see the sign for the button at some key, but still its not that button I use. In fact the button I use is at the opposite side of the keyboard

Just try pressing some other buttons. All I can say, really...

I'm hitting the right button i even plugged in different keyboard to double check and still nothing the thing just don't work and i wanna know how to fix it but nobody seems to know maybe the developers would???!!!
